Asia Financial Controllers Congress

Empowering and Re-engineering the Function of Financial Controllers to Meet Current Challenges

“Eight out of ten FCs say their job has become more challenging in the last five years..”

 - “The Changing Role of the Financial Controller”, Ernst & Young Global Ltd.

FIND OUT WHY!

According to research, 82% of Financial Controllers believe that their roles and responsibilities have become more and more challenging through the years. They are expected to step up and be more pro-active in leading the organization, as opposed to the usual desk work that they are accustomed to do. Financial Controllers now are experiencing greater pressure to enhance and shift from efficiency towards efficacy is escalating, including the use of shared services, outsourcing and dealing with the maturity of technical systems. The CFO is also passing more high-level work to the FC as a result of their being considered as a business partner in the organization.

It is apparent that new opportunities and challenges are opening up for FCs. With all these new obligations, it can be difficult for Financial Controllers to keep abreast with all the new skills and knowledge that are expected of them.

This is where the Asia Financial Controllers Congress rises up to the challenge. It will explore key areas that will take Financial Controllers and Finance Directors to the next level – a level that will position them as business partners of a company, who contribute significantly to the company’s growth.

The topics that will be covered are the Evolution of the Financial Controller – which will tackle the implications of the changing economies in their roles, empowering them to take the next steps in coping with these new expectations from their superiors; Corporate Governance and Organizational Partnership; Best practices; and Leadership & Team Management – developing their soft skills to be able to manage their teams more effectively.

This event will bring together top-level finance executives from the Asian Region to facilitate extensive and informative discourse; and to offer participants the opportunity to learn and network with financial experts from both industry and supporting organizations.
